"Leaders of Russia" National Competition Wraps up With 100 New Young Talented Winners
Today in Sochi are the finals of the Russian national competition "Leaders of Russia". A record number of applications was submitted from different regions of the country to participate in the competition, more than 200,000. In the end, the best 100 young managers were selected. The contest "Leaders of Russia" is one of social elevators, the need for which is talked about so much these days. Alena Rogozina reporting from Sochi. The finalists are awaiting the results of the competition. Behind them are the 4 months of the most difficult intellectual, physical, and moral tests. The first winners come on stage, there's an explosion of emotions in the audience. "Initially we set a goal for ourselves, not just to have a member of our team win, but to win as many awards as possible". This is the first time in the history of such projects and an absolute surprise for the organizers: 300 finalists had to be selected from more than 200,000 applications. "I'm very happy, just happy, thank you". "I'm very calm inside now, before everything was shaky, but after you get it, you've passed through trial by fire". Alexey Petunin is a top manager of a large company from Rostov, and is cycling in tandem for the first time. He's sure that an ability to quickly take up new things is the main quality of a modern innovative leader. Alexey Petunin, finalist: "It's never easy to lead because from one side you know where you want to go and see the direction, and from the other, you understand that there are people behind you, and the speed of the maneuver can also be difficult". The task of the competition is to form a team of strong managers, to put a system of personnel selection for civil service, medicine, education and give a new development potential to all areas of life and economy in the country. Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff: "Their potential, their crazy energy, this is what the government needs, in every single industry". 100 best leaders will get mentors. Heads of state corporations, members of the government, successful businessmen, who watched the contestants from the semifinals, selecting pupils. And now they have to fight for such workers themselves. Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Board of Renova, Skolkovo President: "Of course, my interest as an employer is extremely high, today I saw a lot of individuals who are worthy of good positions in our corporation". The Federal Tax Service and Ministry of Health decided to adopt the idea of the All-Russian competition. They are already accepting applications from their employees for participation. And the winners are promised promotions. Mikhail Mishustin, Federal Tax Service director: "Today it's very important for us to have employees who can honestly and objectively evaluate work of the Tax Service, electronic services, ways of communication that we offer to the taxpayers". Leonid Roshal: "Sometimes a person can be a good specialist, but not a very good leader in healthcare. And leaders in healthcare need to be mentored". "Leaders of Russia" is also about real personal values. Businessman, Denis Denezhkin, was appointed to the post of vice-mayor of Omsk during the contest, for his honesty. He said that it's shameful to be a bad official. And now he's helping the dialogue between government and business. Denis Denezhkin, finalist: "There needs to be transparency, the businessmen and public should not convince the official. And the task is to create a transparent model that will work for the good of the society, and not for the good of the people in the positions of power". Bright, with innovative ideas, they go forward themselves, and also lead others. Finalists receive 1 million ruble grants for education. Winners of the contest: 103 people from every region of Russia, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, they are waiting to meet with the President. Here it is the golden 100 of the best leaders in Russia.
